Saturday PDRA Drag Wars Final Eliminations Results
PDRA Drag Wars at Darana Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina lived up to the hype with an incredible day of close racing and major upsets. Pro Nitrous Points Leader Tommy Franklin was upset in E1 by Dane Wood, opening the door for Defending World Champ Marcus Butner to earn the Victory today & take a commanding Points Lead in the Season Finale. It was a similar scenario in Pro Boost as Incoming Leader Jason Harris lost in Round 2, which opened the door for Johnny Camp who took full advantage & won the race as well as jumped to the Points Lead. JC Beattie (Pro 632) and Austin Vincent (Super Street) both won their classes to take comfortable Championship leads heading to Virginia. Pro Street is up in the air championship wise as Ron Green nipped Tim Essick at the stripe for the Benson win. In the Sportsman classes, the Big Story was Defending Elite Top Sportsman World Champ Byran LaFlam cementing himself as the Favorite heading into Virginia with the Win at Benson, where he jumped from 3rd to a somewhat safe Lead. Other Sportsman Winners include Brian Anderson (Elite Top Dragster), Mike Alexander Jr. (Top Sportsman), Taylor Holland (Top Dragster), Charlee O’Meara (Pro Junior Dragster), Mason Dudley (Top Junior Dragster) and Donald Webb (Bracket Bash).
