Thursday NHRA Texas FallNationals Results
The NHRA Texas FallNationals was in full swing on Thursday with Final Qualifying and Early Round Eliminations in Lucas Oil Series classes. The Top Alcohol classes hit the track for their opening Qualifying Session with Melanie Johnson (Top Alcohol Dragster) and Doug Gordon (Top Alcohol Funny Car) the provisional polesitters. The remaining LODRS classes finalized their fields with Top Qualifiers ending up being: Dane Ward (Top Dragster), Jimmy Lewis (Top Sportsman), Christopher Benham (Comp), Chelsea Tindle (Super Stock) and Jimmy Hidalgo Sr. (Stock). Early Round Eliminations saw some epic moments with National Championship implications. None were more dramatic than the E2 Stock Eliminator matchup between Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. and Brad Burton. Hidalgo would win the Heads-Up E/SA battle by a Margin of 008 at the Stripe to move into a tie with Joe Santangelo for the National Points Lead. Jimmy was also a big part of the Super Stock story on the Day as Justin Picillo moved around Hidalgo to the National Points lead just by staging for Round One, however Justin would lose that Round. Hidalgo must win E3 on Friday to earn the Points Lead back. The points drama will just keep getting more intense as the weekend progresses. More Early Round Eliminations are on the schedule for Friday as well as Round 1 of the JEGS AllStars. To follow along with this Event Live, go to NHRA.tv at https://www.nhra.tv/.
