Event Race Recap
The NHRA Division 6 Lucas Oil Series season is underway with Event 1 completed at Firebird Raceway in Boise, ID. This event is also known as the Igintor Nitro Opener featuring the Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars from the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series. After a wild weekend of Funny Car racing, it was Todd Plate piloting Eddie Knox’s Problem Child earning the Silver Wally defeating a redlighting Jerry Espeseth in the Final Round. In the NHRA Division 6 points categories, the big story was a Father-Son Double as Brandon Hoover took the Top Dragster win while his Dad Art Hoover went to the Super Street Winners Circle. Congrats to the Hoover on this incredible feat in Idaho. Other winners from the NHRA Division 6 Opener include Chad Riley (Top Sportsman), Cody Lane (Comp), Brad Burton (Super Stock), Parker Theobald (Stock), Rayce Kidd (Super Comp), Sandra Bracey-Nero (Super Gas) and Jesse May (Sportsman Motorcycle). NHRA Division 6 will be back in action next month at Mission Raceway in British Columbia, Canada for a Double (Divisional/SportsNationals).
