Woodburn LODRS NHRA Division 6 Race Two Recap
The NHRA Division 6 Double Header at Woodburn Dragstrip wrapped up on Sunday with an excellent day of Final Eliminations. Dean Carter piloted his iconic A/Nostalgia Dragster to a Woodburn Weekend Sweep in Competition Eliminator. Carter defeated Brian Hyerstay with a 55 Under Lap to earn his second Wally of the trip to Oregon. East Coast hitter Al Kenny made the cross country trip worthwhile by taking the Top Dragster victory with a 012 RT and 2 Above (6.165 on 6.14 Dial) to defeat Cody Baker. Jody Lang backed up his Sonoma Nationals victory with the Super Stock win at Woodburn defeating Dennis Paz in the Final. Woodburn LODRS NHRA Top Alcohol Regional Recap
This year’s Woodburn Event featured a NHRA Top Alcohol Regional Points Race for the West Region. A strong field of 10 entries showed up for Top Alcohol Dragster competition in Oregon. Woodburn Dragstrip Track Operator Joey Severance in the YNot/Noonan entry was #1 Qualifier with a 5.277 ET. Joey kept up the pace throughout Eliminations culminating with Low ET of the Weekend 5.242/274MPH to defeat Chris Demke in the Final Round. The Top Alcohol Funny Car field was led into Eliminations by Brian Hough with a great 5.513 ET. Hough kept up his excellent performance with Low ET of the Weekend 5.487 in E1 to defeat Bret Williamson. This set up a final round between the Hough team and Tobin Gasparrelli, who scored the Upset win over Doug Gordon in Round 1. Unfortunately for the Hough team, Brian’s Funny Car developed a fuel leak sending Gasparrelli on a Solo to earn the Wally at Woodburn Dragstrip.

Woodburn LODRS Shane Molinari Memorial $20K Recap
A big addition to this year’s Woodburn Double Header was the Shane Molinari Memorial $20K Bracket Race. Shane was such a big supporter of the Drag Racing in the Northwest, and this was a special way to pay tribute to a true legend of Drag Racing. The Final Round came down to a pair of Top Dragster competitors dialed in the 4.4-second range (1/8 Mile). Aaron Steinkey would put up 15 Total (005 + 4.410 on 4.40 Dial) to earn the $20K victory over reigning TD World Champ Casey Plazier.

Woodburn LODRS NHRA Division 6 Race One Recap
The NHRA Division 6 Double Header at Woodburn put Race 1 in the books with a great day of action. The Burton Family scored a unique Family Stock Eliminator Final Round with Brad defeating Mom (Diane) when she turned it 030 Red. Josh Dalrymple backed up his Wednesday Win with another Wally in Super Street, defeating Dustin Ward who broke out 006 (10.894 on 10.90 Index). Hometrack racer Dylan Hough scored the Super Comp win in a close double breakout decision with Dick Vandermeer, 8.893 to 8.877 (8.90 Index). Other Winners from Race 1 of the Double Header include Steve Casner (Top Dragster), Bill King (Top Sportsman), Dean Carter (Compeititon Eliminator), Rodney Stults (Super Stock), Kirk Lanz (Super Gas) and Francis Scali (Sportsman Motorcycle).

Yellowstone LODRS NHRA Division 6 Race Two Recap
NHRA Division 6 started the Woodburn race weekend by wrapping up the prior Points Race that was cut short at Yellowstone Dragstrip in Acton, Montana. Cody Lane scored an unusual Double victory during this event. Lane won the Competition Eliminator Wally for this race last week as it was contested during the Northwest Nationals, then comes to Woodburn & scores the victory in Stock Eliminator in a double breakout race over Rick Green. Lane also won the Comp Eliminator Wally during Race 1 of the Yellowstone weekend, so he scored a total of 3 Wally’s over both races of the Double Header. Chad Hofert narrowly missed a Yellowstone Double in Sportsman Motorcycle as he won Race 1, then came up just short in a Breakout Decision to Don DePeel in the Final Round at Woodburn. Other winners from the conclusion of the Yellowstone Race 2 Event include Ryan O’Connor (Top Dragster), Mark Austin (Top Sportsman), Nicholas Shepherd (Super Stock), Grant Williamson (Super Comp), Andrew Sargent (Super Gas) and Josh Dalrymple (Super Street).
