World Super Pro Challenge Event Recap
This year’s World Super Pro Challenge saw 300+ Entries converge on the Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, MI for an action packed weekend of big money bracket racing. For the first time in World Super Pro Challenge history, the $50K Main Event was held on Friday. A poor forecast necessitated the schedule change, and the Ledford Family made the right call as usual. 335 Entries staged up for Round 1 on Friday under Sunny Skies. The Final Round saw a pair of Michiganders face off with Bryan Campbell in the Black Thunderbird made famous by previous owner Roy St. Denis vs. Steve Vandersloot in his Black & Red Corvette Roadster. Campbell threw down a solid 016 + Dead 1 (5.851 on 5.85 Dial) Lap to defeat Vandersloot’s 024 + 3 Thou Under (5.227 on 5.23 Dial) breakout run. AJ Ashe was the sole-semi finalist in one of the Overkill/FTI Dragsters. Jeff Alexander and his White Vega got the job done in No Box 32, defeating Stan Jones’ Corvette in the Final Round. Other Main Event Winners on the Week were Jared Ledford ($10K Thursday) and Doug Heinisch ($15K Sunday) to complete a Door Car Sweep of this Event.
