NHRA Midwest Nationals Sunday Eliminations Results

The NHRA Midwest Nationals thrilled a capacity crowd at Worldwide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois on Sunday for Final Eliminations in all classes. Crowd Favorite “Stevie Fast” Jackson put the Motion Raceworks/KTR Screw Blown Camaro back in the NHRA Pro Mod Winners Circle defeating Stan Shelton in the Final Round. Jonathan Allegrucci earned the Factory Stock Showdown Wally for the Midwest Nationals as well as clinching the FSS Series Championship in the process today. Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. moved back into Super Stock National Championship contention with a clutch victory today. Jimmy used a 004 RT to defat Jacob Delaune in the Final Round. The Stock Eliminator Final Round saw a AA/S Stick Shift Heads-Up matchup between Johnny Diekema and Brett Saurbaugh. Diekema would earn the Wally in a 9.71 to 9.83 decision. Luke Bogacki had us on Double Up Alert into Sunday, where he would fall in the Semis of Super Comp, but went on to earn the Top Dragster victory defeating Alaia Isenhower in the Final. Other Winners on the Day include Christopher Dodd (Competition Eliminator), Jim Glenn (Super Comp) and Kris Whitfield (Super Gas). The NHRA National Event Tour takes a Weekend off before heading to the Texas Motorplex.

    • Jonathan Allegrucci def. Scott Libersher. Libersher had trouble at the hit, and the Series Champ Allegrucci cruised to a 7.640/179MPH Win Light.

    • Kris Whitfield def. Todd Pullen. Just another Day in the Office for Whitfield as he lets go 019 and lands it Dead 5 (9.905) to get to the 1320′ Finish Line 012 ahead of Pullen for the W.

    • Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. def. Jacob Delaune. Hidalgo got all of it on the Tree in the Final with a 004 RT for a big Starting Line edge and rolled on thru for the Midwest Nationals Wally. This Win moves him into the SS National Points Lead.

    • Jason Collins def. Mike Stavrinos. Another major twist in the Championship Battle as Points Leader Stavrinos falls victim to Collins in Round 1. Jason had the RT advantage and ran 5.632/255MPH to outpace Stavrinos’ troubled 8.205 lap.
    • Stan Shelton def. Billy Banaka. The hits just keep on coming in the Championship saga. Shelton outruns #4 points man Banaka in a 5.639 to 5.678 decision to advance to E2.

NHRA Midwest Nationals Friday Qualifying Results

The Midwest Nationals are underway at Worldwide Technology Raceway just across the River from the Gateway Arch. Pro Mod Qualifying was incredible on Friday afternoon with Justin Bond throwing down the Quickest ET in NHRA Legal PM History at 5.619/256MPH. The JBS Team held on to the Top Spot via MPH as Derek Menholt also went 5.619 ET at 254MPH. Amazing to see the Two Quickest combos in the class run the exact ET to the thousandth. Lee Hartman ran the Quickest Factory Stock Showdown ET at 7.544 for the #1 Qualifying position as well as earning a Final Round Berth in the Great Lakes Nationals continuation against David Janac. The LODRS classes had a great day of Qualifying/Time Trials on Friday. Al Peavler grabbed the Top Spot in Top Dragster with a 6.114 ET to earn the E1 Bye Run in a 31-Car Field. Another Round 1 Bye goes to Competition Eliminator Top Qualifier Greg Kamplain and his Turbocharged H/Dragster. Other Top Qualifiers include Craig Gualtiere (Super Stock) and Jerry Bennett (Stock). Action continues on Saturday with Final Qualifying for Pro Mod and Factory Stock Showdown as well as Early Round Eliminations in all LODRS categories.
