Saturday Recap

Saturday was the Big Day during the Ultimate 64 Shootout Weekend at Darana Raceway in Xenia, OH (formerly Kil-Kare Raceway). Not only did Saturday feature the Return of the OG Ultimate 64 $50K-to-Win Shootout Format, it also saw a combined $40K Main Event as the decision was made to fold Sunday’s payout into Saturday’s race with weather challenges in the forecast.

The Ultimate 64 Shootout saw 64 of the Best Bracket racers from Ohio and neighboring states lay down $1500 entry fee for a shot at a share of the $50K-to-win Top Prize. The Final Round saw a Door Car vs. Dragster Battle as Jason Lynch’s Fuel Factory / Moser First Gen Camaro faced off with Wayne Adams’ Dragster. In legendary Jason Lynch fashion, he throws down a 4 Total Package (003 RT + Dead-On 1) to turn on the W light & earn the $50K.

The $40K Combined Race boiled down to an all-Door Car Final as the First Gen Camaro of Cameron Adkins faced off with the unique 4-Door Chevy II of Ryan Butler. This would be an excellent final round with Adkins using a .009 RT and 6.369 (6.35) to take .005 Stripe for the $40K Win.

Friday Recap

The tradition continues with the 21st Annual Ultimate 64 Shootout weekend at Darana Raceway in Xenia, OH (formerly Kil-Kare Raceway). Action kicked off on Friday with the first of three $20K-to-win Main Events. After a full day of racing action, the Final Round came down to a pair of 2nd Gen Camaros as Chase Meade and Doug Hopkins battled it out for the Victory and Bragging Rights. Both racers were set on kill with Hopkins taking the 001 to 007 RT advantage, but at the stripe it would be Meade setting it .011-Above (6.401 on 6.39) to take .001 Stripe for the W. Garrett Griffith and Cody McDaniel were semi-finalists in a race that saw all Door Cars in the Final 4.
