Saturday at Maryland’s Cecil County Dragway featured Qualifying for the NHRA Testo Chesapeake SportsNationals portion of the Double Header weekend. Tom Martino led the way with a 6.139 ET in Top Dragster. Michael Hanratty made it a Weekend Sweep of the #1 Spot in Competition Eliminator. Other Top Qualifiers include Walter Zalak (Top Sportsman), Herbie Null (Super Stock) and James Giermanski (Stock). Super Stock & Stock Eliminator Class Eliminations were also contested, click the Class Name links to view Winners. Early Round Eliminations were also contested in all categories. Final Eliminations are on the schedule for Sunday at Cecil County Dragway. NHRA LODRS Friday Final Eliminations Results
NHRA Division 1 continued the big weekend at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, MD on Friday with Eliminations for the D1 LODRS Points Race. It’s still early in the Season, but a couple of crucial victories today could be huge in the Championship chase. Joe Carnasciale scored his Fifth Division 1 Competition Eliminator victory of the Season defeating William Pine in the Final Round. Joe C has essentially clinched the D1 Comp championship at this Point, and now has his Focus on the National Title. In Top Sportsman, Michael Daniele took a huge step forward towards the D1 Title with a Final Round Victory over a Redlighting Kevin Edmonds. Daniele now has a much safer lead head heading into the Final Division 1 Points Race in Epping, NH next week. Another Big Final Round was in Top Dragster where Brooke Warren-Foley scored a killer victory over “Terminator” Peter Biondo. Brooke let go 003, and put it 2 Above (7.207 on 7.18 Dial) to take 006 Stripe earning the Wally. Other Winners on the Day include Avery McLawhorn (Super Stock), Paul Stalba (Stock), Amanda Boicesco (Super Comp), Bob Phillips (Super Gas) and Carly Wolf (Super Street). Qualifying and Early Round Eliminations is on the schedule on Saturday for the Testo Chesapeake SportsNationals portion of the Event. NHRA LODRS Thursday Final Qualifying Results
NHRA Division 1 is back on track with a Double Header weekend at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland. Qualifying was on the agenda Thursday for NHRA D1 LODRS Points Race, which is the first Leg of the Double Header. Steve Furr showed the way in Top Dragster with a great 6.105 ET in Q2 on the 6.10 Class Cap. In Top Sportsman, Jeff Brooks earned the #1 Qualifying spot with a 6.405. Competition Eliminator saw Michael Hanratty lead the field in his K/AA Altered with a 68 Under Lap. National Points Contender Shane Oakes jumped to the Top Spot in Super Stock with a 1.17 Under Lap in his SS/IA ’98 Firebird to earn the Round 1 Bye Run. Ralph Porpora earned another Top Qualifier in Division 1 action with his E/SA ’69 Camaro recording a 10.519, 1.181 Under the Class Index.
