Sunday Recap
Sunday featured the thrilling conclusion of this year’s BTE World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee. The Weekend’s $40K-to-win Main Event was on the line, and racers were ready to cash. One racer that had already chased in big this weekend was Friday’s $20K Winner Gage Burch, wheeling the borrowed Wagon from Florida. Burch worked his Magic again, and cut through a tough field to reach the Final Round against Jordan Martin’s S-10. Gage was unstoppable as he was 007 Green and 2 Above (6.493 on 6.47 Dial) to take 006 Stripe for the Victory. It was a $60K Weekend for Gage Burch at this year’s World Footbrake Challenge. Coalburg Promotions will be bring back more Footbrake action to Bristol Dragway over Labor Day Weekend. Saturday Recap
The BTE World Footbrake Challenge rolled on Saturday at Bristol Dragway with the Weather Combined $40K Main Event. Saturday started with the Conclusion of Friday’s $20K, and crowning Gage Burch the Champion. The Day was a challenge for the Coalburg and Bristol staffs as mechanical gremlins caused a couple significant delays for Cleanups. The Crews did a great job putting cars down the track until Mother Nature stepped in during E3. The Plan is to start with E3 on Sunday Morning and complete as much as possible. Friday $20K Wrapup
Friday’s $20K Main Event is wrapped up after completing the Late Rounds on Saturday Morning during the BTE World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee. The Final Round saw a familiar face to the Winners Circle at any Big Money Bracket Race as Florida Racer Gage Burch faced off with Kentucky’s Trey Scharf in an all Station Wagon battle. This one would be over on the Starting Line as Scharf hit it 006 Red, turning on Burch’s W Light. Burch was 010 Green on the other side, and takes the $20K Top Prize. Gage was also the last Racer Doubled as he had Two Entries still in at Round 6 (14 Cars Left). The Day’s Semi-Finalists were Ernie Humes and Jason Lawrence. BTE World Footbrake Challenge continues on Saturday with the Saturday & Sunday combined $40K to win event. The Main Events were combined due to incoming weather on Sunday. Friday Recap
The BTE World Footbrake Challenge continued on Friday with another $20K Main Event at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee. The Day started with wrapping up Thursday’s $20K and crowning Nick Bowman the Winner. Friday’s $20K again had a massive car count. Eliminations ran late into the evening, and right up to Curfew with the completion of Round 5 Eliminations. Approximately 27 Entries are remaining when Eliminations continue early Saturday morning with Round 6. Thursday $20K Wrapup
The first $20K Main Event of the weekend started with over 500 Entries during the BTE World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee. The action wore late into the night eventually hitting track curfew, which pushed the Final Rounds to be mixed in with Friday morning’s activities. The Final Round matchup would see a pair of past WFC Winners square off with Pennsylvania racer Nick Bowman in his Duster against Kentucky’s Anthony Blackburn. This would be a great Drag Race with Bowman having the Better RT 015 to 024, and taking 007 Stripe with a Dead 9 Lap (6.749 on 6.74) to earn the $20K Top Prize. Nick Scheckelhoff put on an impressive performance carrying both of his Entries to the Quarter-Final Round before dropping one that round and the other in the Semis. WFC action continues on throughout the Day on Friday with another $20K on the line to today’s Main Event Winner. Thursday Recap
Thursday’s $20K Main Event during the BTE World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol Dragway saw a jaw dropping 525 Entries take the tree for Round 1 of Eliminations. Action was called for the night due to hitting curfew at the conclusion of Round 4 with 49 entries still in battle for the $20K. Wednesday Recap
The BTE World Footbrake Challenge is underway at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee. A huge turnout of Racers have converged on Bristol for the Super Bowl of Footbrake Bracket Racing. Added to this year’s Event is Wednesday Open Testing followed by a $5K-to-win Gambler’s Race. When the dust settled, the Final Round for $5K came down to North Carolina’s Allen Furr in his Chevy II against Alabama racer Griffin Haygood in his 3rd Gen Camaro. These two were separated by 004 in RT (026 to 030) with the Advantage to Furr, and he would make the right decision at the stripe letting Haygood take the Finish Line to Breakout by 005 (6.595 on 6.60). Furr’s 1 Above (6.793 on 6.78) would earn the Final Win Light, and Five Thousand Dollars. Action continues on Thursday with the Weekend’s First $20K-to-win Main Event.
