Saturday Recap
Shakedown at MTown lived up to the hype with an incredible day of Final Qualifying and Full Eliminations on Saturday at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan. The Midwest Drag Racing Series Pro Mod class put on an unbelievable show throughout the weekend. It would be first time Pro Mod racer Paul Gargus piloting the Scott Tidwell Racing Hartscharger-equipped ’69 Camaro to the Winners Circle. Gargus recorded Low ET of the Weekend with a 3.547 in his final round victory over Aaron Wells. In other MWDRS action, Jason Lee & Wes Distefano split the Pro Mod Slammers category while Mike Savoia (Top Sportsman) and Jason Jensen (Top Dragster) earned top honors in their respective categories. The Radial Outlaws Racing Series put up amazing performances all weekend long. Not sure if any of those performances touched that of Lyle Barnett in Radial vs. The World wheeling Elvira to the victory with a string of 3.4x ET’s capped off by a 3.457 to defeat Chris Daniel by .004 at the finish line. Lyle nearly made it a double up in Pro 275, but came up short as Mo Hall put his Nitrous power in the Winners Circle with a strong 3.662 in the Final Round. Other RORS winners on the weekend included Jamie Hancock (LDR), Davey Hull (X275), Martin Connelly (Ultra Street), Jonathan Insley (X255) and Tim Flanders (Gangster X). The Radial Outlaws Racing Series goes into their Summer Break, and will return in the Fall while the Midwest Drag Racing Series will be right back to US 131 during the Northern Nationals on July 31-August 1.

Friday Recap
Shakedown at MTown continued on Friday with an incredible evening of Qualifying at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan. The Midwest Drag Racing Series Pro Mod category absolutely stole the show with a thrilling late night Q3 that saw a series record ET take the top position. Paige Coughlin, who just joined forces with Peter Norton’s team before this event threw down an incredible 3.552 ET at 213MPH to earn the top spot. An incredible performance for Paige’s first weekend of Pro Mod competition. Right behind her also at 3.55’s were Ryan Martin & Paul Gargus, while Kye Kelley and Jacob McNeal rounded out the Top 5. The Bump Spot after 3 sessions is currently Aaron Wells at a 3.625 with one round of Qualifying remaining on Saturday morning.
In Radial Outlaw Racing Series action, Lyle Barnett raised the bar even farther in Q2 with a 3.490 ET. Meanwhile, in Pro 275 Luke Smith did a similar feat as he lowered his Top Qualifying run from Thursday with a 3.657 in Q2. Smith is followed closely by Mo Hall and Nick Lacerenza, who both improved in Friday’s Qualifying. Other top qualifiers from the RORS categories after Q2 include Jamie Stanton (LDR), Davey Hull (X275), Justin Johnson (Ultra Street) and Brad Schehr (X255).

Thursday Recap
Shakedown at MTown is underway at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI with Thursday Night Q1. Pro Mod was the only Midwest Drag Racing Series category in competition, with Top Sportsman and Top Dragster hitting the track tomorrow. Kallee Mills topped an incredibly competitive Pro Mod field in Q1 with a 3.575 ET. Jason Lee was just .002 behind her for the #2 position, while Paul Gargus, Robert Costa and Ryan Martin rounded out the Top 5. 28 cars made an attempt in Q1, the #16 Bump spot currently sits with Ed Thornton at 3.675. All Radial Outlaws Racing Series categories completed Q1. Lyle Barnett shoed “Elvira” to the top spot in Radial Vs. The World with a 3.498 ET. Lyle came close to another Provisional Pole with a 3.690 to end up #2 in Pro 275, behind Luke Smith’s excellent 3.685 ET in his Corvette. Grantley Schloss, Nick Lacerenza and Eddie Harrison round out the Top 5 in Pro 275. Other Provisional Top Qualifiers in Radial Outlaw Racing Series classes include Jamie Stanton (LDR), Eric LaFerriere (X275), Justin Johnson (Ultra Street) and Brad Schehr (X255).
