An event record breaking turnout of over 400 entries was on hand for the West Coast Bracket Races Southwest Showdown at Tucson Dragway in Tucson, AZ. Heavy winds delayed racing action on Saturday & led to a schedule change which resulted in the Saturday/Sunday purses to be combined with Eliminations starting Saturday and ending on Sunday. Sunday’s $25K came down to fellow Texas racers Peeps Pennington in his Dragster against Dennis Lithgow in his Corvette Roadster. They decided to Split and Quit the event’s top honors. Kentucky’s Lucas Walker wheeled “Cool Whip” to the $12,500 Pro ET top prize defeating Washington’s Zach Zurbrugg in an all-Camaro Final Round. Walker was .024 and Dead 8 for the win as Zurbrugg broke out.

Friday Recap
Friday featured the first day of Main Events for the West Coast Bracket Races Southwest Showdown at Tucson Dragway in Tucson, AZ. Joe Schmall takes the first $10K Super Pro Main Event win of the weekend wheeling his daugher-in-law Jamie’s Cavalier to the final round win over Dennis Lithgow’s Corvette Roadster. Will Holloman nearly backed up his win in Montgomery, Alabama on Sunday with a semi-final finish in this race. The Pro ET final came down to Utah’s Parker Theobald versus Kentucky’s Clayton Clark. Parker used a .009 starting line advantage to take .013 at the Stripe for the final W light of the day in his 3rd Gen Camaro before doing a smoky celebratory burnout on his way to the Winners Circle.
