Friday Chesapeake Fall Classic Results
Cecil County Dragway hosted the Chesapeake Fall Classic on Friday at the Maryland track. Mother Nature condensed the Event to a one day show with heavy weather rolling in for Saturday. The Mountain Motor Pro Stocks put on a great show at Cecil County with Jerry Tucker breaking into the 3’s in Qualifying with a 3.974 ET. But it would be Vincent Nobile taking the Victory defeating Johnny Pluchino in the Final Round. The Top Alcohol classes raced in a Chicago-style format. Jackie Fricke swept the extremely tough Top Alcohol Dragster (A/Fuel) field by earning Top Qualifier with a 5.179 ET, then defeating Jeff Chatterson on a holeshot 5.219 to 5.212 (054 to 095 RT’s) in the Final Round. Joe Gerdelmann topped the Top Alcohol Dragster Blown Alcohol group with a 5.528 ET to defeat Top Qualifier Brett Winward. DJ Cox showed he means business in his return to Top Alcohol Funny Car as he threw down a 5.525 in Qualifying, then backed it up with a 5.482/259MPH to defeat Brian Gawlik in the Final Round. Schedule Update
Mother Nature has necessitated a major schedule change. All racing will take place on Friday. Top Alcohol classes will run a Chicago-style Shootout with two runs tonight. Mountain Motor Pro Stock will also run a modified format as well. TS, TD and local classes are all canceled for this Event.
