Redding Saturday Final Eliminations Results
The NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series made the trip to Redding, California for Thunder Under the Lites over the weekend. Nostalgia Top Fuel was the headline class with a dramatic points chase underway between West Coast Hitter Pete Kaiser and East Coast standout Tyler Hilton. Naturally, the field came down to a Final Round matchup between Kaiser and Hilton. Kaiser would turn on the Win Light with a 5.96/246MPH blast, while Hilton had issues and ended up with a Top End incident in the Great Expectations NTF. Per the Team’s social media, Tyler is OK and they are already making preparations to get the car repaired for the NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion at Famoso Dragstrip next month. Another big winner was incoming points leader Steve Faller, who won 7.0 Pro in a double breakout decision versus Tony Trimp 6.993 to 6.948. Other winners on the night included Kin Bates Sr. (Pro Comp), Brad Woodard (Junior Fuel), Dustin Lee (NE/1), Brian Rogers (A/Gas), Tony Citro (NE/2), Kevin Riley (B/Gas), Mike Munson (NE/3), RJ Simrock (C/Gas), Ken Parks (D/Gas), Craig Renke (Hot Rod), Dan Martin (West Coast Outlaws), Joey Hovey (West Coast Outlaws ‘B’ Field), Kevin Albert (West Coast Outlaws 5.35 Index) and Robin Crowton (West Coast Outlaws 5.35 Consolation Race). The NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series heads next to the Season Finale at Famoso Dragstrip in Bakersfield, California next month.
