Sunday Recap
NHRA Division 2 Orlando LODRS Race is now complete with Eliminations wrapping up Sunday morning. Austin Alvey created the big story of the day as he reached finals in both Super Stock and Stock shooting for a double up. Unfortunately he came up short in Stock against Terry Hembree, but he was able to get the final round win in Super Stock. Perennial championship contender Johnny Labbous put one in the W column to kick off the season throwing down 9 total (.009) in the Super Comp Final. Other winners from this event include Tisha Wilson (Top Dragster), Dale Thaxton (Top Sportsman), Monty Bogan (Comp), Mike Griggs (Super Gas), Lawrence Pulver (Super Street), Braxton Scott (Jrs 13+), Johanna Tilman (Jrs 10-12) and Trenton Tindle (Jrs 6-9). Up next for Division 2 is the Gator Nationals next weekend followed by the next LODRS event the “Baby Gators” the following weekend.

NHRA Division 2 LODRS points racers lined up for Eliminations for the first time during the 2026 Race Season on Saturday at Orlando Speedworld Dragway in Orlando, FL. Unfortunately weather conditions necessitated a late start, and only 2 rounds of eliminations were completed in most categories. Eliminations will continue on Sunday morning, starting at 9AM. Also of note, Qualifying wrapped up Saturday morning in Comp Eliminator and Top Sportsman with Jacky Bennett (TS) and Steve Johnson (Comp) retaining their respective #1 positions. NHRA’s Division 2 started off their 2026 Season with Qualifying for the Lucas Oil Series points race at Orlando Speedworld Dragway in Orlando, FL. Racing action was just about complete when the rains cut the day’s Qualifying short just before the Competition Eliminator & Top Sportsman fields were set. These classes will finish their Q2 Saturday morning. Donna Patterson lead the field in Top Dragster with a strong 6.169 on the 6.10 Class Index. Troy Huntzberry (Super Stock) and Doug Duell (Stock) earned the #1 Qualifying positions in their respective categories heading into Eliminations. Saturday will see a full day of racing ahead with Eliminations in all categories.
